MyEO: Designing An Extraordinary Life with Erin Scannell

  • Thinkspace 1700 Westlake Ave N #200 Seattle United States (map)

Most of us rarely pause to think about what we want our lives to look like next year, much less the next decade +. Instead, we tend to take it as it comes, reacting, staying busy with the day to day, and wonder why it feels like life is passing us by.

Having worked with thousands of families to design their version of an amazing life, I’ve compiled the most impactful exercises from that process – and I’d love to share with fellow entrepreneurs and their families. This workshop is interactive and designed for spouses, significant others, and especially kids—anyone you want to feel closer to.

And we won’t just stay at an abstract/philosophical level. You will take concrete steps to design YOUR version of an amazing life, where each family will go through exercises intended to help better define what will make our lives as rich as they can be; whether it be relationships we want to invest in, experiences we want to have, or goals we want to achieve. And then we will create systems to make those things happen. The ultimate goal: a life we are truly energized by, vs one where we’re going through the motions, remaining stuck in a constant state of busy, doing things others expect of us.

I use these exercises regularly with my clients as part of developing their financial plan, and some have described the outcome to have been life-changing. So I’m excited to do these with my family (I’ll be bringing 3 of my kids), alongside fellow EO brothers and sisters and their families.

What We’ll Do

DESIGN PHASE:
Studies have shown that just the act of writing goals down increases the odds they are achieved by 41%. In this phase you’ll identify your family’s main sources of energy and satisfaction.

—How to produce more of the 4 drivers of energy: dopamine + serotonin + oxytocin + endorphins
—Values Exercise: each family will sort through a deck of values cards, and attempt to narrow down to the 5 most important to them
—4 Blocker Exercise: each person will identify their top priorities in 4 areas: Meaningful relationships (family, friends), Health (body/fitness), Health (mind/spirit), Meaningful work/school/money

EXECUTION PHASE:
“We don’t rise to the level of our goals, we fall to the level of our systems.” In this phase you’ll create systems that will help turn actions into habits that ensure goals are achieved.

—Year in Review Exercise: each person will go through their camera roll and place the pics that represent their top experiences and relationships into a “Top Memories” folder—Wall-Size Calendar Exercise: each family will receive a giant white board calendar and start to fill out 2026. Putting the things onto the calendar that you believe will make 2026 one of the best years yet.

Can’t wait!
